THE WINNERS
The Spanish Cinema has again won in Fantasporto, this time with “Fausto 5.0” (Best Film Award in the Fantasy Section) , the Best Short Film for “7337” by Sergio G. Sanchez and a few other prizes. Also the recent winner of Berlin “Bloody Sunday” by Paul Greengrass went on to win the new Directors Week., as well as the Audience Award. This edition of the biggest film festival in Portugal was as always. Huge crowds packing the Rivoli Theatre, to an estimated total of 140,000 spectators.

Estes filmes serão todos adquiridos para exibição no Programa Onda Curta da RTP.
With an impressive number of circa 140, 000 people attending the Rivoli and the AMC theatres (3 screens altogether), Fantasporto has presented 170 features (in competition, homages and retrospectives). Almost two hundred directors and about 300 guests mixed with the media representatives ( television networks, press and radio stations) in a daily coverage. Also present some of the televison networks of Galicia and Calle 13. Jan Sverak’s “Dark Blue World” was screened in the closing night and the première of “The Royal Tenenbaums” primed at Berlin closes the 22nd edition. Till next year, on the 21st February, ending on the 1st March, for the 23rd Fantasporto.
